Top-tier rowing awaits those visiting Henley Royal Regatta 2024
The crowds are gathering in Henley-on-Thames for the world-famous Henley Royal Regatta 2024. Crews are competing for a coveted place on Finals Day, which takes place on Sunday 7th July.
This is the 185th year of this prestigious event and it is more popular than ever with competitors and spectators alike. For July 2024, there are record entries, which demonstrates the depth of the competition.
Among the atheles vying for top honours are international competitors, who row at the very highest level. A victory at Henley is always much desired and ensures that the rowing will be exciting, competitive and of the highest quality.
The current World and Olympic Champion, Oliver Zeidler, will be going for his fourth Henley title and will face the USA Olympic representative, Jacob Philal. There are exciting races throughout the week, with the action at the weekend also something to watch with interest. In The Temple Challenge Cup we may see Harvard’s unbeaten lightweights facing defending Champions from Oxford Brookes.
The Prince Philip Cup is relatively new and was only introduced in 2021; however, it has become one of the best prizes to win at Henley Royal Regatta.
The week ahead at Henley Royal Regatta 2024 promises to provide top level competition for those in the mix and also those watching on. Stewards’ Enclosure is traditionally the place to be seen; however, there are also plenty of pop-up bars and areas to enjoy along the river for those without a badge for Stewards’.
As dusk arrives, Mahiki is the place to party and jeroboams of Pommery Champagne were already being ordered here during lunchtime on day one. Makiki will also be serving their new rum, which is available throughout the regatta.
